A Stinky Subject.

Posted on November 7, 2011

Lately I’ve been on a little health bender.  Not in the way you might think– cutting carbs to fit into that dress.  Or working out like a maniac to prepare for the holidays.  Nope, if you saw me eat THE MOST DELICIOUS PIZZA last night you would most definitely know I am not counting calories.  I’m talking about giving a long, hard think to some of the stuff I’ve been putting on or in my body for years.  For some time I having been anxious about the traditional deodorants and anti-presperants that we use and the aluminum that is the main, active ingredient.  So, a few months ago I got on the hunt.

First up was Lavanila which I was happy to see was sold at Sephora (I love the natural brands that are taking the mainstream market by storm).  This brand omits parabens, petrochemicals and propylene glycol.  This is good news.  While I have friends that love this, I still felt a little stinky.  Ew.

So I moved onto Malin+Goetz Eucalyptus Deodorant.  It smells delicious!  I didn’t stink!  And I felt somewhat fashionable having it in my cabinet.  The great news is that it contains no the aluminum (yay!) but does contain propylene glycol (boo.)

Then a very healthy friend of my told me about Crystal Body Deodorant.  It’s unique is that all it’s made of are natural salt minerals.  And it has absolutely no odor.  I bought the stick got home and realized you had to dampen it before use.  What?  Talk about a high-maintenence product.  So I hopped out and got the roll-on and so far so good.

I’ll keep you posted on my thoughts but in the meantime would love to hear yours.  Had any luck with the natural stink fighters?
