Jerz Day.

Posted on December 18, 2011

A few months ago I was asked to do the makeup for the cast of Jersey Shore again.  I was actually on a lovely vacation in Europe and scrambled to come back a day early.  I landed at JFK took a taxi to my apartment, repacked by suitcase, met Bridget on the street, picked up our rental car (car place was closed), called MTV in a panic, got another car and we headed down to Seaside Heights, New Jersey for three days where the show is famously shot.

I’ve now worked with this group a few times and I always have a blast. I’ve made some great friends at MTV and now know the cast much better.  We were there for all sorts of press stuff but the final day was the major shoot for the images that are then, in turn, used for promotional purposes.  We had to be on location on the boardwalk at 4AM so makeup on the girls began back at the hotel around 2:00AM and we worked until the middle of the next day.  Rough hours, but when you have a job that you love, surrounded by people who give you the giggles, it makes it all pretty easy.

I snapped a few images myself when we had a little downtime.

Finally the sun was up!

At about 6AM we had gorgeous light hitting their face so we started goofing around.

More gorgeous light.

And here are some of the final selections from the shoot.  Taken by actual professionals.

Enjoy!
